Why my Favorite go to Exercise is the Elliptical

ellipticalThere are countless reasons why I love to workout on the elliptical. This piece of gym equipment is very challenging to me. Like everything else, an elliptical machine workout is what you make of it. I am always so excited that I can work my entire body in one shot. By working your upper and lower body as well as your cardio is the best feeling ever. Also, by back pedaling this works the calves and hamstrings. It is fabulous to switch up your routine from time to time.

I really enjoy working out my upper-body. It is great to pump your arms as you move your legs. One of the reasons why I recommend the elliptical is that my legs tend to feel more tired after using this machine than comparable workouts. Exercise is very individualized. I hope that you can find a machine that works for you. Being comfortable and happy with your mode of fitness training will keep you motivated to continue moving forward. Thank you!

How to Create a Balanced Attitude toward Losing Weight

Khloe-Kardashian-Fitness-MotivationWhat does it mean to possess the right mindset to drop weight? Many of us want to lose weight, but we only want to lose weight if it requires few sacrifices. I noticed that some people (like myself) want to exercise excessively, but retain their usual poor eating habits. This generally does not help to have a steady, successful weight loss.

Take me for instance, I realized that I want to go above and beyond to figure out how to lose weight naturally. As previously mentioned, I talked to a handful of physicians and received the support that I needed. I took notice of what foods increased my appetite. It is vital to take your weight loss goals seriously. I have come to learn that having a healthy attitude includes devising strategies that keep you in the right track when you feel tempted to eat the wrong things. You will know when your mind is in gear when you stop looking for short cuts for weight loss. Enjoy your week, Weight Cliquers!

How to Overcome an Exercise Plateau

OvercomeDo you ever wonder why you reach a plateau and can not get past it?  Possible reasons could be overeating, boredom, decreased motivation or insufficient exercise.  Using a trainer could be extremely helpful to break out of an exercise plateau.  A fitness instructor can assess your strength and weaknesses and help you formulate your goals.  A coach can introduce you to different exercises, as well.

A sign of over-training could be noticing chronically sore areas of your body.  I have come to realize that weight loss plateaus are normal.  In addition, I have learned to turn my setbacks into moments of growth.  Take me for instance, I have learned that my stress level effects my running.  Sometimes a fresh start can get you over the hump.  My hope is that some of these ideas can motivate you to dig yourself out of a plateau.  Choose to keep moving forward!

The Benefits of Weighing in Daily

12844701-the-words-weigh-in-on-a-scale-representing-the-need-to-check-your-weight-while-dieting-and-watching-I am mindful that weighing in every morning helps me to stay accountable.  Having an awareness of my fluctuations in weight helps me to pin point my problem areas with food.  When the scale increases, I look at what I ate the day before and pay close attention to what have caused my weight to go up.  For instance, cheese is a healthy food, however if you eat too much of it you could gain weight.

I use a ledger method which was introduced to me by Jenny Craig.  The journal includes the date and my weight.  It’s a simple process of me calculating the changes from day to day.  It is a easy way to track trends in my weight journey.  I enjoy maintaining this daybook because it reminds me of my accomplishments.  I feel confident with losing weight and this practice boosts my experience, as well. It is very re-assuring that the Jenny Craig health coaches acknowledge that I know how to drop weight.  Weighing in is a ritual that I have incorporated to my typical day such as taking my morning supplements.  This approach has worked for me, I hope you can find a routine that works for you!

Why I am Happy to Shop at Whole Foods

foodThere are multiple reasons why I love shopping at Whole Foods.  I have discovered my passion for healthy cooking and creative meal plans.  I went through a process of figuring out what I should purchase.  I realize that a nutritious menu requires unprocessed and unrefined food.  Whole Foods Market is a higher than average priced grocery store, however my health is worth it and I really enjoy the cuisine.  Also, I feel reassured that I am purchasing healthy groceries.

The pre-made organic meals that I buy are between $8.00- $12.00.  In addition to this feast, I purchase Whole Foods Market organic fruit.  Sometimes I create a mixture of salad from there excellent salad bar, which includes a pre-made Caesar salad, bruschetta, or a cobb salad.  I recognize there is not one single path to healthy eating.  Try finding strategies that work for you and your family.  Whole Foods Market provides an outstanding value.  Give it a try!

Hydrate yourself to Health

fruit waterYou probably already know that it is vital to keep hydrated, especially when you exercise.  It helps if what you drink is both healthy and delicious.  I prefer to drink Poland spring bottled water, but I also like variety.  My favorite flavored water is Hint, because it is all natural with out preservatives and has zero calories.  The Hint refers to natural flavors such as honey dew, apple, blueberry and others.  The wonderful taste of Hint makes me more prone to drink often.

I also take pleasure in the taste of coffee, however I restrict myself to decaf coffee because caffeinated coffee works like a diuretic.  I use a little bit of non-fat milk and equal.  I love herbal tea, particularly passion fruit tea from Starbucks.  It has a special fruit blend.  The recommended consumption of fluid is 64 oz. per day.  If you comply with this suggestion, you are ahead of the game.  Put some thought and imagination in selecting your fluids so you are more likely to drink up!
